How to Play LAST ARROW

The One Rule

Tap an arrow to fire it. It travels from the arrowhead toward the edge of the board.

Clear every arrow to finish the level. The next board begins automatically.

Read the Tip, Not the Tail

Starting at level 10, some arrows bend around corners. A bent arrow always fires in the direction of its arrowhead. The rest of the arrow still occupies space and can block other arrows.

You Cannot Lose

There is no timer and no limit on attempts. Each board is generated backwards from a solved state, so a valid solution exists before the level begins. Removing an arrow only opens more paths, which means your choices cannot make the board impossible to finish.

Try any arrow you think might be clear. A blocked shot simply returns to its place.

Tips

  1. Start Near the Edges. Outward-facing arrows near the border often have the shortest path off the board.
  2. Follow the Blockers. If an arrow cannot move, look at what blocks it. Clearing that arrow may open several paths at once.
  3. Watch the Long Arrows. They occupy more dots, so removing one can open a large part of the board.
  4. Trace Bent Arrows to the Tip. On a two-corner arrow, the tail may point in a completely different direction.
  5. Take Your Time. Nothing is timed, and the board will wait.

How Levels Grow

Each board is generated when you reach it. The game has no final level, and the challenge changes gradually as you progress.

LevelWhat Changes
15×5 grid, two straight arrows
Every 3Roughly one more arrow on the board
10Single-corner arrows appear
Every 12The grid grows by one dot in each direction
25Double-corner arrows appear
300The grid reaches its 30×30 maximum; arrows keep getting denser

Early boards usually give you several clear arrows to choose from. Later boards offer fewer immediate options, so following the chain of blockers becomes more important.

Settings Worth Knowing

Level
Jump anywhere. Tap +/− to move one level, hold to move ten at a time. Handy for showing someone a big board.
Dark Mode
On by default, since the neon palette was designed for it. There is a full light theme as well.
Sounds and Haptics
Every sound is generated by the browser, and the vibration patterns differ for a clear, a block, and the last arrow of a level. Both can be switched off.
Reset Progress
Clears your lifetime count and sends you back to level 1. It asks first.
